Based on numbers alone -- and that's all The Blog has to go by -- UAA fans should probably be psyched with the Seawolves' latest recruit.
According to Chris Heisenberg's excellent recruiting site, UAA has secured a commitment from forward Tad Kozun, who only happens to lead the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in goals, points and power-play goals, and is tied for the lead in shorties.
Kozun, 20, owns 22-12--34 totals in 23 games with the Nipawin Hawks. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder leads the league in points by nine, in goals by seven and in power-play goals by one.
He's ticketed to join the Seawolves next fall -- he's 20, so he'll be out of junior eligibility.
Probably worth pointing out that UAA is happy with the last guy it recruited out of the Saskatchewan league. Center Blake Tatchell led the Seawolves in scoring as a freshman last season.
Also on the recruiting front, UAF has secured a commitment from defenseman Nikolas Koberstein of the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Olds Grizzlys. He'll join the Nanooks in either 2015 or 2016.
Koberstein, 17, is a 6-2, 200-pounder who owns 4-4--8 totals in 26 games.
