Fairbanks 6, Kenai River 5 (OT): Yeah, it was a bit score-y

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, adn.com on November 29, 2013

Just based on numbers -- primarily, a 53-21 advantage in shots -- the Fairbanks Ice Dogs got what they deserved tonight with a 6-5 OT road win over the Kenai River Brown Bears.

In a game that featured 11 players with multiple points -- six Ice Dogs, five Brown Bears -- and a big plus-minus spread -- some dudes as high as +3, a dude at -4 -- it figured the Ice Dogs should win. And they did, at nearly the last moment -- Doug Rose scored at 4:56 of the five-minute OT.

Probably worth mentioning the Kenai River owned leads of 3-0 and 4-1 in the second period and near the end of regulation, scored to even get to OT.
