D-man James Martin returns to Aces

The Alaska Aces got a boost on the blue line today when defenseman James Martin returned to them from AHL Abbotsford.

Martin was one of four Aces promoted to the Heat last week -- still with Abbotsford are defenseman Kane Lafranchise and wingers David Eddy and Peter Sivak.

Martin leads Aces blueliners in scoring with eight assists in 14 games. He also owns a +12 rating. He was even in two games with the Heat.

Martin returns to help the Aces in Utah, where Wednesday night they open a three-game series against the Grizzlies as part of their eight-game road trip.

The Aces lost the first two games of the trip in Colorado.
