NAHL Report: Fairbanks continues owning Kenai River

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on December 6, 2013

At this point, we can safely say the Fairbanks Ice Dogs have totally got the number of the Kenai River Brown Bears in the NAHL.

Colton Wolter dropped a hat trick on the visiting Brown Bears tonight to trigger Fairbanks' 4-1 win, which gives the Ice Dogs a 7-0-0 record against their intrastate rivals this season. Only one of those games went past regulation, so the Ice Dogs in the rivalry this season have racked 14 points to the Brown Bears' one point.

Kevin Aldridge stopped 16 shots for Fairbanks. Alec Butcher bagged Kenai's lone goal.

Still, the Brown Bears have time to right the rivalry. The teams meet nine more times this season, starting with Saturday night's rematch in Fairbanks.
