Police said they are investigating the death of a 32-year-old Eagle River man as a homicide, though few details were being disclosed on Sunday.

Andrew Conn was found dead inside his townhouse on the 20600 block of Mountain Vista Drive in Eagle River around 5 p.m. Saturday, said police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro.

Someone had been trying to reach Conn by phone through the day, went to the residence, and found him dead, Castro said. The person, who wasn't identified, told neighbors, who called police, she said.

Castro wouldn't say what made police think the death was a homicide, whether weapons were involved or how long Conn's body had been in the house.

On Sunday afternoon a crime scene investigation van and several patrol cars were still parked at the scene.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death, with results expected Monday or Tuesday, Castro said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 786-8900 or to anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP or go to www.anchoragecrimestoppers.com.
