A Southeast Alaska man faces felony DUI charges for driving his boat while drunk Saturday, the Alaska State Troopers said.

Troopers claim Frank Kriener, 65, was seen "stumbling through town" before getting in to his 14-foot skiff.

"Subsequent investigation revealed that Kriener had operated the watercraft while being under the influence of alcohol," troopers said in a dispatch posted online.

Kriener has been convicted of DUI twice in the last decade, according to troopers.

He was taken to the Craig city jail. He faces a felony DUI charge.

Thorne Bay is a community of about 550 people on Prince of Wales Island, in Southeast Alaska.
