Alyeska hosts FIS skiing competition this week

FIS hits Alyeska

There will be some serious downhill racing going on this week at Alyeska Ski Resort, where 47 skiers will compete in the four-race Alaska Best Water December FIS Series. 

The action begins Wednesday at 2 p.m., on the Alyeska Race Trail. Joining 12 skiers from the Alyeska Ski Club, the diverse group of competitors includes 12 from UAA,  19 Eastern Division racers and four from the Far West Division. International skiers include four from Great Britain, three Canadians and one each from Hungary, Finland, Italy and Israel. 

Racing continues through Saturday, weekday racing starting at 2 p.m., and Saturday’s racing starting at 11 a.m.
