Wine of the Week: 2011 C&B Reserve Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

AnchorageDecember 12, 2013

Cartlidge and Browne is an old Californian favorite. Their mantra from the beginning was to produce great wines at an affordable price. Today, over 30 years later, Tony Cartlidge and Glenn Browne's dream continues. I invite you to try their 2011 C&B Reserve Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. There is a lot packed in this one! The aromas are quite Bordeaux-like, with black fruits, pencil lead, cedar and a bit of dried herb. The mouth is all black fruit, mineral and wood with a lovely tannic grip. I was quite surprised at how well this wine showed. Serve with lamb or roast beef. Enjoy! Costs about $18.
