Aces get Connolly back, also get D-man from Abbotsford

The Alaska Aces have received reinforcements ahead of tonight's game at Idaho.

The AHL's Abbotsford Heat assigned winger Brendan Connolly back to the Aces. He owns 6-11--17 totals in 18 games and should help a power play that has failed on 26 straight occasions in the last five-plus games.

What could really help as much or more is the arrival to the Aces of defenseman Drew MacKenzie from Abbotsford -- the Aces currently are young and not particularly deep on the blue line. MacKenzie owns 1-4--5 totals in 16 games with Abbotsford.

Last season as a rookie, MacKenzie went 1-8--9 in 27 games for Abbotsford and 5-9--14 in 25 games for ECHL Utah.

In four seasons of college pucks at Vermont, MacKenzie went 17-47--64 in 133 games.
