AnchorageDecember 13, 2013

Former Harlem Globetrotter Meadowlark Lemon is bringing his farewell tour to Anchorage this weekend. The man known as the “Clown Prince of Basketball” will be at West High for his final performance in Alaska.

Lemon will join former Globetrotter Hollywood Brown and the Harlem Comedy All-Stars in a game against the Anchorage Police Department Search Team All-Stars on Sunday at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 at the gate, but can be purchased for $10.00 in advance at Tesoro To Go or Kaladi Bros. Coffee. Tickets are good for one adult or two children 16 or younger.

Lemon spent 24 years with the Globetrotters, leaving the team in 1979 to form his own team, called the Bucketeers. Famous for hitting hook shots from half court and performing no-look, wrap-around passes, Lemon took his game to fans all around the world. He has traveled more than four million miles and played in nearly 10,000 basketball games.
