Alaska Airlines began nonstop service from Anchorage to Phoenix on Wednesday and will begin nonstop flights to Las Vegas on Thursday, the company said.
The Phoenix flight will be offered until April 19, 2014, and the flight to Las Vegas will run all year, said Bobbie Egan, Alaska Airlines spokeswoman.
Service to Phoenix will leave at 8:25 a.m. Mondays, Wednesday and Saturdays, she said, and the flights to Las Vegas depart at 10:20 a.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
"We're pleased to introduce nonstop service to the exciting destinations of Las Vegas and Phoenix for our customers in the state of Alaska," said Alaska Airlines regional vice-president Marilyn Romano in a news release. "Alaska is the only airline offering nonstop flights from Anchorage to Las Vegas."
The seats on these planes, along with most others in the Alaska Airlines fleet, will be upgraded with 110-volt power and USB power outlets by the end of the year, Egan said, and will include lumbar support and an adjustable headrest.
