Former Aces goalie Brossoit still hasn't surrendered ECHL goal

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on December 18, 2013

You may remember rookie Laurent Brossoit -- he played goal for the Alaska Aces early this season.

He made three appearances for the Aces -- a relief stint, followed by two starts -- and did not surrender a goal in 126+ minutes, stopping all 40 shots he faced an shutting out the Bakersfield Condors twice.

Since then, he was traded from NHL Calgary to Edmonton, which got him sent to AHL Oklahoma City. He's struggled at that level, so he was shipped down to the Condors this week.

And tonight he kept up his ECHL shutout streak, racking 28 saves in a 4-0 win over Idaho. That gives him 186:21 played in the ECHL and he is yet to surrender a goal. Brossoit has stopped all 68 shots in the league. And, of course, Bako has been involved in all three of his shutouts.

Oh, and with his third consecutive shutout, Brossoit tied an ECHL record for most consecutive shutouts.
