WCHA commissioner will resign at season's end

WCHA commissioner Bruce McLeod will resign at the end of this season, his 20th directing the circuit, the league announced today.

McLeod is the former Minnesota-Duluth athletic director and was a point-per-game player there in the late 60s.

Bruce has always been good to The Blog, so we wish him well this last season, and after.

He's visited Anchorage many times, of course, and he has another Alaska connection -- he's the uncle of former Seawolves forward Scott McLeod. Bonus trivia: Scott McLeod's nickname was Axe. Gee, think he got his money's worth when he got two minutes for slashing.
