And we also have a Mitch Bruijsten sighting

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on December 20, 2013

Familiar faces are popping up everywhere -- see previous post about former Alaska Aces winger Scott Howes -- and now we have word on former UAA forward Mitch Bruijsten.

Bruijsten, who began his second season as a pro in the SPHL with the Mississippi Surge (6-1--7 totals in 14 games), made his debut tonight for the ECHL's Stockton Thunder.

Bruijsten was even with two shots on goal in a 3-2 shootout loss to Western Conference-leading Ontario.

Bruijsten in three seasons at UAA went 19-20--39 in 98 games before then-coach Dave Shyiak two seasons ago gave him the gate right before the WCHA playoffs -- the school said Bruijsten wasn't meeting his academic requirements.

Anyhow, now he's in the ECHL.
