Laurent Brossoit is mortal

Former Alaska Aces goaltender Laurent Brossoit, who tied an ECHL record earlier this week when he racked his third straight shutout -- two came with Alaska and the record-tying bagel came for Bakersfield -- just proved mortal.

He actually surrendered a goal in the ECHL -- it was his first one in five appearances (four starts and one relief appearance).

With Bakersfield at Idaho tonight, Brock Montgomery of Idaho beat Brossoit glove side to finish a 2-on-1 rush and give the Steelheads a 1-0 lead.

That snapped Brossoit's shutout streak to open his career in the ECHL at 211 minutes, 17 seconds. He had stopped all 76 shots he faced in the league until Montgomery scored.
