A three-and-a-half-hour power outage in Girdwood affected 154 customers before electricity was completely restored just before 11:30 a.m. Monday, Chugach Electric Association Inc. said.

The cause of the outage remained unknown Monday afternoon.

Chugach spokeswoman Sarah Wiggers said the outage was centered on Alyeska Resort and surrounding commercial areas. The resort relied on its own generators, Wiggers said. The outage started at 7:45 a.m. and power was partially restored to some customers within 90 minutes.

A Chugach crew was trying to establish the cause of the outage, she said.
