A man was shot and seriously wounded inside an Anchorage home early Wednesday, and another man has been arrested and charged, Anchorage police said.

Police received a call at 12:56 a.m. reporting an accidental shooting inside a residence in the 7300 block of Woburn Circle, police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro said in an email. The area is in the area of Northwood Drive and Strawberry Road in southwest Anchorage.

The victim, who was only identified by police as an adult male, was taken to a hospital in stable but serious condition, Castro said.

Chad Andrew Vansickle, 23, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and misconduct involving a weapon, Castro said.
