UAA skiers battling for 4th at Utah Invitational

Anna Berecz and Cedrick Gagnon posted the top finishes for the UAA ski team Sunday in alpine ski races at the Utah Invitational, where the Seawolves are one point out of fourth place with one day of competition remaining.

 
Berecz, from Budapest, Hungary, placed 15th in the women's giant slalom. Gagnon, of St. Saveur, Quebec, finished 18th in the men's slalom.
 
Through three of the meet's four events, the Seawolves are in fifth place, one point behind Colorado, 327-326.  Utah leads with 520.5 points, followed by Denver (484) and New Mexico (414.5).  
 
Freshmen Katerine Lamoureux and Victoria McVicker placed 19th and 22nd, respectively, for the Seawolves in the women's race. 
In the men's race, Niko Harmanen was 22nd and Curtis McKillop 26th.
 
The meet wraps up Wednesday with freestyle distance races at Soldier Hollow.
