NAHL report: Ice Dogs win, Brown Bears lose

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs wrapped a three-game sweep of their NAHL series with the visiting Minnesota Magicians tonight with a 3-0 win, courtesy of 24 saves from Patrick Munson, who pocketed his first shutout this season.

Munson improved to 8-2-0 with a 2.13 goals-against average and .922 save percentage.

Fairbanks is 27-11-0. The Ice Dogs got one goal and one assist from Nick Hinz, goals from Kyle Lee and Todd Burgess, and two helpers each from Ethan Somoza and Colton Wolter.

On the Peninsula, Wenatchee handed the Kenai River Brown Bears a 4-3 defeat.

Kenai River got goals from Eric Pursell, Jack Gessert and Alec Butcher of Anchorage, who continues to lead league scorers with 17-27--44 totals in 39 games.

Kenai River is 19-17-3, 13 points behind Midwest Division-leading Fairbanks.
