Englewood, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Denver Broncos officially placed cornerback Chris Harris on injured reserve Tuesday, one day after an MRI confirmed that he tore his ACL in the team's win over San Diego in the AFC Divisional Playoffs.

Harris emerged as an integral part of the top-seeded Broncos' defense in his third pro season, recording 65 tackles, three interceptions and 13 passes defensed while starting 15-of-16 games prior to this year's playoffs.

Defensive end Derek Wolfe, who has not played since Nov. 24 due to seizure- like symptoms he experienced before Denver's Week 13 matchup at Kansas City, was also placed on IR. The 2012 second-round pick started each of the Broncos' first 11 contests and registered a sack in three straight outings prior to being sidelined.

The Broncos signed cornerback Marquice Cole and promoted rookie offensive tackle Vinston Painter from the practice squad to fill the available roster spots for Sunday's AFC Championship against New England.

Cole, a five-year veteran, appeared in 13 games with the Patriots before being released on Dec. 26. The 30-year-old had 15 tackles and one interception with New England this season.
