Aces: Connolly to return to lineup tonight

The Alaska Aces got some good news today -- winger Brendan Connolly will return to the lineup tonight for the opener of a home series against the Las Vegas Wranglers after missing eight games.

Connolly has been out since he took a stick to the mouth against Utah last month and suffered facial and dental injuries.

Coach Rob Murray today said Connolly was fitted for a special mouthguard Tuesday and he didn't expect the mouthguard to be ready in time for tonight's game. Turns out, though, that the mouth-guard is available, so Connolly will be back.

The timing is good for Connolly -- he's a hockey player, so he wants to play -- and the Aces -- his return comes as forwards Evan Trupp and Jordan Kremyr are up with AHL Abbotsford, and winger Andy Taranto remains out (shoulder).

Connolly owns 7-13--20 totals and a +3 rating in 23 games.
