UAF falls 5-4 at Northern Michigan

UAF outshot Northern Michigan 32-17 on the road tonight and cashed in three times on six power plays -- and lost.

Northern Michigan, with just 17 shots on John Keeney, beat the Nanooks, 5-4, to run the Nanooks' winless streak to four games (0-3-1).

The Nanooks (8-11-4, 5-10-2 WCHA) remain in ninth place in the 10-team WCHA -- tenuous territory because only the top eight finishers make the playoffs.

UAF got power-play goals from Garrick Perry, Brandon Morley and Colton Parayko, who also had an assist. Cody Kunyk had two helpers and Tyler Morley furnished an even-strength goal.

NMU (9-10-2, 7-5-1 WCHA) has played the fewest league games on the circuit with 13.

Pretty crazy third period. NMU led 2-1 after two, then the teams combined for six third-period goals.
