Eagle River skates to wild 7-6 win over Bartlett

Anchorage Daily NewsJanuary 30, 2014

Kyle Johnson scored the game-winning goal with just under four minutes left Thursday, lifting Eagle River to a 7-6 win over Bartlett in a crazy CIC hockey game at the McDonald Center.

Eagle River scored six straight goals to grab a 6-0 lead in the first period.

Then Bartlett scored six straight, four in the second period and two in the third period, to tie the game.

Twenty-four seconds after the Golden Bears forged the tie on Chance Aquino's goal, Johnson scored unassisted to give the lead back to the Wolves.

Johnson and Aquino both finished with hat tricks. So did Bartlett's Joel Johnson.

Schuyler Davis, Jesse Johnson, Anthony Fan and Blake Halfpenny added goals for Eagle River, which got 15 saves from Jeffrey Harimann and three from Justin Lopez, who replaced Harimann in the third period.

Kyle Sun notched three assists and Malakye Felix stopped 26 shots for the Golden Bears.
