Yes, um, about those D-III men's rankings...

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on January 31, 2014

There is an Alaska angle to this entry, but mostly The Blog is intrigued by a score from Division III men's hockey tonight when No. 1-ranked Adrian played at No. 2-ranked St. Norbert.

Um, not to put too fine a point on it -- and granted, it's just one game -- but man did St. Norbert take Adrian to the woodshed: 11-1. Seriously.

Your local angle: St. Norbert sophomore forward Erik Cooper of Anchorage had one goal and one assist. That gives him 11-12--23 totals in 20 games. He's second on the team in goals and third in points.

Adrian suffered its first loss to fall to 16-1-3. St. Norbert improved to 17-2-1.

The teams meet again Saturday. Imagine the score will be significantly closer. Just playin' a hunch.
