Verrier's pretty slick on ice

Adam Verrier won three events and finished runner-up to Lukas Stutzer in two others Thursday night in the Alaska Speedskating Club’s event at Midtown Park.

Verrier won the 500 meters, 1,500 meters and 3,000 meters. Stutzer won the 100 meters and 1,000 meters, and was runner-up to Verrier in the other two races. The meet originally was scheduled for Tuesday, but moved to Thursday because of recent high temperatures.

100 meters — 1) Lukas Stutzer 11.7; 2) Adam Verrier 11.9; 3) John LaFornaise 12.12; 4) Chuck Gilbert 14.3; 5) Michael Fischetti 16.22. 500 meters — 1) Verrier 49.04; 2) Stutzer 52.6; 3) LaFornaise 55.49; 4) Gilbert 1:01.12; 5) Fischetti 1:07.15. 1,000 meters — 1) Stutzer 1:37.32; 2) Verrier 1:37.34; 3) LaFornaise 1:54.25; 4) Gilbert 2:09.59; 5) Fischetti 2:27.61. 1,500 meters — 1) Verrier 2:30.18; 2) Stutzer 2:32.86; 3) LaFornaise 2:54.64; 4) Gilbert 3:11.45; 5) Fischetti 3:35.73. 3,000 meters — 1) Verrier 5:24.21; 2) Stutzer 5:33.07; 3) LaFornaise 6:24.15; 4) Gilbert 6:53.11; 5) Fischetti 7:38.69.
