South wrestlers lead CIC meet after 1st day

The South Wolverines are on track to defend their Cook Inlet Conference wrestling title.

The winners of two of the last three championship, South finished Friday's action at Chugiak High with a 60-point lead over East.

The Wolverines racked up 276 points. East is second with 216.5 points and West is third with 184.5.

Competition resumes Saturday morning at Chugiak, with finals scheduled for 2 p.m.
