Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled goaltender Cam Ward from a conditioning stint at their American Hockey League affiliate in Charlotte.

Ward was activated off injured reserve Thursday and sent to Charlotte to play a couple of games. He was 1-1 with a 2.02 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage in two AHL outings for the Checkers.

The Saskatoon native last played for the Hurricanes on Dec. 31 against Montreal and has missed the team's last 14 games. It was Ward's second stint on IR this season, as he also missed 10 games in October and November with a lower body problem.

In 19 NHL games this season, Ward has a record of 6-7-5 with a 3.15 GAA and an .895 save percentage.
