UAF's Parayko is WCHA Defensive Player of Week again

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on February 4, 2014

UAF's giant sophomore defenseman Colton Parayko -- 6-foot-5, 218 pounds -- has been named the WCHA's Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Parayko, a third-round draft pick of the St. Louis Blues, furnished the Nanooks a goal and two assists, and six shots and a +2 rating in a pair of 6-1 home-ice wins over Alabama-Huntsville last weekend.

That gives Parayko 4-15--19 totals and a team-best +13 rating in 28 games -- all his goals have come on the power play. As a rookie, he went 4-13--17 in 33 games.

He's pretty good at hockey.
