South, Dimond advance
South and Dimond, which tied for the Cook Inlet Conference regular-season championship in the regular season, when they split games, will meet again for the tournament championship after each team cruised in their semifinal games Thursday night.
South dispatched Chugiak 7-0 and Dimond dominated West 6-0.
The Wolverines and Lynx meet for the title Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Ben Boeke Arena.
South on Thursday at Ben Boeke Arena received one goal and three assists from Gavin Lubin, and two goals and a helper from Cameron Klatt.
South raced to a 3-0 lead Josh Smith, Ben Trujillo and Klatt all scored in a span of less than four minutes late in the first period. Klatt's second-period goal pushed the cushion to 4-0, and Trevor Geerin, Cayden Cahill and Lubin all scored in the third period. Cahill also had an assist in the game.
Kevin Lake pocketed the shutout for the Wolverines with 11 saves. Chugiak's D.J. Paxson stopped 38 shots.
Dimond, which fell to West 3-2 a week ago, on Thursday at the McDonald Center in Eagle River got two goals from Jonathan Roth, and goals from Aidan Teilborg, Desmond Conley, Chance Peters and Drake Glover. Teilborg added two assists, as did Conley and Glover.
Ashton Good bagged the bagel for Dimond with 22 saves. West's Joe Chekan made 32 saves.
Chugiak and West, which like South and Dimond already have qualified for next week's state tournament, meet in the CIC third-place game Friday at the McDonald Center at 7:15 p.m.
Dimond girls perfect
The Dimond girls won all their matches in Thursday's bowl-off in the Anchorage Scholastic Bowling League, racking a perfect score of 35 points at Center Bowl.
The format had each team playing every other team once.
The Eagle River girls, tied with Bartlett for the league lead entering the final competition, snatched first place overall in the league. Bartlett won the boys overall title and Dimond's boys won the bowl-off title.
East's Taylor Schoeni shined among girls Thursday with games of 248 and 210, and West's Daeja Monilla rolled a 215.
Some of the top boys scores included a 245 and 217 from Bartlett's Ryan Dudley, a 242 from Dimond's Ryan Esteban, a 224 from Bartlett's Logan Williams and a 213 from West's Nate Peterson.

Grace 35, Delta 30
Malaya Shamburger hit three 3-pointers and scored 15 points Thursday to lead the Grace Christian girls basketball team to a 35-30 win over Delta Junction at the Homer Carnival Invitational.
Sasha Baird added seven points for Grace and Sara Laker snagged five rebounds to help the team avenge a 15-point loss to Delta earlier this season.
