Aces get D-man MacKenzie from AHL Abbotsford again

The Alaska Aces, thin on the blue line because of injuries and at least one suspension, have been assigned defenseman Drew MacKenzie from AHL Abbotsford again.

The Aces said if MacKenzie's flight arrives on time, he will be in the lineup later this afternoon for a home game against Stockton.

MacKenzie in 18 games for the Aces has delivered 2-5--7 totals and a +11 rating.

The Aces lack depth at defense because Dustin Molle was suspended indefinitely on Saturday night after he and Stockton captain Garet Hunt fought during warm-ups. Both sat out the Aces' ensuing 5-2 win.

Aces defenseman Sean Curry and Stockton's Mathieu Coderre-Gagnon also fought and could be subject to suspension too -- no words on those dudes yet from the ECHL.

Also, the Aces have defensemen Corey Syvret and James Martin out with injuries.

With Molle suspended Saturday, Aces coach Rob Murray was reduced to five defensemen. That's not ideal, nor a disaster, but MacKenzie's arrival should help greatly.
