Sochi Report extra: How to watch Randall's big Olympic race

Anchorage Daily NewsFebruary 9, 2014

Randall's big race is tonight

Tonight's the night when Kikkan Randall goes for the gold.

There are two ways to watch the race live, and both require that you subscribe to a pay-TV service like GCI or DirecTV.

Television coverage will air on NBCSports (GCI cable channel 39). According to NBC's listings, events scheduled to be covered are the cross-country freestyle sprint -- Randall's race -- and speedskating. Whether coverage will include all of the sprint competition or just a portion isn't known.

Complete coverage is available online at nbcolympics.com

If you're a GCI subscriber and you want the livestream coverage, you need to create a user profile. You need your account number to do this, but the process is easy and doesn't take long. But best to sign up before the race, in case you hit a speed bump.

Racing begins at 1 a.m. Alaska time with qualifications. The quarterfinal heats start at 3 a.m., the semifinals at 3:56 a.m. and the finals at 4:22 a.m.
