Comparing Aces' 4 recent wins to their other super-sized series

With four games down in an unusual five-game regular-season series with the Stockton Thunder -- the weird scheduling was prompted when the San Francisco Bulls folded last month -- the Alaska Aces have collected four wins heading into Thursday night's series finale at Sullivan Arena.

Six previous times, the Aces' ECHL franchise has played a string of either five or six regular-season games against a common opponent and, not surprisingly, they've never swept them -- that's a big ask -- though they have come close.

Here's how the Aces did in those previous loooonnngggg series (and, note, that all of those previous series included both home and road games, and this current one is all at home):

2012 -- 5 games vs. Colorado, 4-1-0

2010 -- 5 games vs. Ontario, 2-2-1

2009 -- 5 games vs. Bakersfield, 1-3-1

2009 -- 6 games vs. Phoenix, 5-1-0 (including 4 straight wins)

2005 -- 6 games vs. Victoria, 4-1-1 (including 5 straight wins)

2003 -- 5 games vs. Utah, 2-3-0
