Anchorage police have arrested a 26-year-old man on assault and weapons misconduct charges in connection with a November shooting outside a lounge in Midtown.

Wills Johnbaptiste turned himself in to police Wednesday after a warrant was issued one week ago for his arrest, said Jennifer Castro, Anchorage police spokeswoman. An Anchorage grand jury on Thursday indicted Johnbaptiste on first- and second-degree assault charges and one weapons misconduct charge, Castro said.

Three people were injured in the shooting, which occurred in the parking lot of the Office Lounge on East Northern Lights Boulevard in the early-morning hours of Nov. 10. Two suffered bullet wounds and one was grazed by a bullet. All three people are in stable recovery, Castro said.

Castro said police interviewed multiple witnesses to the incident, and it took time to piece together the evidence. Because many of the witnesses were military members, she said, Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson's criminal investigation office assisted police in the investigation.
