Nanooks keep rolling, crush Michigan Tech 7-3

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on February 14, 2014

UAF won its fourth straight WCHA game, and sixth in its last seven matches, when it dispatched host Michigan Tech, 7-3, tonight.

That's the most goals the Nanooks have scored in a game this season. Cody Kunyk bagged two goals and Nolan Huysmans generated a goal and two assists.

UAF pumped 40 shots on the Huskies and chased a homeboy. Michigan Tech goaltender Pheonix Copley of North Pole got the gate after two periods. He stopped 28 of 33 shots.

The victory gives UAF 22 points in 23 WCHA games and puts them sixth in the 10-team league. They have just five league games remaining, including Saturday's series finale in Houghton.
