Aces winger Trupp recalled to AHL Abbotsford

The Alaska Aces will be a little thinner up front for their ECHL series against Ontario that opens here Wednesday night after winger Evan Trupp of Anchorage was recalled by AHL Abbotsford.

Trupp earlier this season earned his first promotion to the AHL and did so well -- 1-3--4 totals and a +3 rating in seven games -- that Abbotsford signed him to an AHL deal. That was great for him, obviously, but also great for the Aces because it furnished them some salary-cap relief --AHL-contracted players only count $525 per week against the ECHL cap, and rest assured Trupp makes more than that.

In any event, Trupp's absence gives someone else a chance to fill his skate boots.

Trupp in 41 games with the Aces owns 11-25--36 totals and a +8 rating. The 26-year-old is a third-year pro.
