King Estate in Oregon set out to make the best pinot gris in the world and I say they are right on track. The 2012 Signature is rich and unctuous as is befitting of the vintage. I got lots of nose with mineral and pretty white fruits. The mid-palate is striking for its depth and complexity and how lengthy it is -- it lasts for half a minute or so. This one, as they say, is firing on all cylinders. Try it with a shrimp linguine. It will make your taste buds smile. Costs about $20.
