NAHL report: Ice Dogs throttle Brown Bears

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, on February 22, 2014

Man, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs are killing the Kenai River Brown Bears this season.

The Ice Dogs hung a 7-1 loss on the visiting Brown Bears tonight to run their record in the season series to 10-1-1.

Fairbanks received two goals and a helper from Tayler Munson, two goals from Kyle Lee and three assists from Colton Wolter. The Ice Dogs pumped five second-period goals and chased 16-year-old Brown Bears goaltender Kris Oldham of Anchorage.

Only Alec Butcher's goal with 28 seconds left cracked the shutout bid of Fairbanks goaltender Patrick Munson, who stopped 16 shots.
