Photos: Blues Central closing night jam

AnchorageFebruary 23, 2014

Blues musicians and fans crowded Blues Central one last time on Saturday night and early Sunday, February 23, 2014. This was the final jam before the nightclub and restaurant planned to closes for good, says owner Frank Dahl. Blues Central opened as Chef's Inn in 1964 and has attracted such blues giants as B.B. King and Buddy Guy. Several Alaska musicians traded solos in front of a tiny, packed dance floor for hours on the last night. The State of Alaska has bought the property.
