Letter: Cameras could expose behavior

February 26, 2014

I believe the problem with kids not learning as well as they should does not lie with the teachers or the schools themselves. One unruly kid in a class of 30 interrupts the education of the other 29.

Put cameras in classrooms, and have those cameras under the control of the teachers, who can start and stop them. Cameras are now widespread in public places, so invasion of privacy should not be an issue. If a child is taped cursing a teacher or exhibiting other disruptive behavior, perhaps a parent who believes Johnny can do no wrong will, upon viewing the tape, learn otherwise.
