Police are investigating a report of a man being robbed at gunpoint in northeast Anchorage on Wednesday evening.

The incident was reported about 6:15 p.m. A man called dispatchers to say he had been assaulted and robbed by four men as he was walking home in the 300 block of Donna Drive.

The victim said the suspects pulled up in a black SUV, got out and attacked him, demanding his wallet while holding a gun to his neck, according to an email from Anchorage police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro.

The victim told police the suspects took his wallet and fled in the SUV. He had minor injuries and was checked by medics, Castro said.

The suspects were described as younger-looking men wearing blue jeans and black coats, Castro said, and one of the suspects had a beard or goatee.

Castro said police are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 786-8900 or, to report anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP or www.anchoragecrimestoppers.com.
