Former Aces goalie Ortio makes NHL debut (UPDATED)

Posted by DOYLE WOODY, adn.com on February 27, 2014

Joni Ortio, the goaltender who started his season with the Alaska Aces, just began his NHL debut with the Calgary Flames, so congrats to him.

Unfortunately, he just gave up a goal to Dustin Brown of the LA Kings three minutes into his debut.

UPDATE: Calgary lost 2-0. Ortio stopped 22 of 24 shots, a solid debut. Brown's goal came off a turnover deep in Calgary's end, and even then Ortio got a piece of his right pad on Brown's shot. Dwight King's third-period goal was point-blank too.
