Alaska State Troopers cited a Ketchikan woman Wednesday after she crashed her vehicle while texting and driving with her 3-year-old daughter in the car.

Jasmine Pattison, 31, was traveling in her 2006 Infinity southbound on North Tongass Highway when distracted by her phone near Mile 6. She drifted into the oncoming lane and crashed her vehicle off the highway, troopers said.

Her driver's side air bag deployed, troopers said. Pattison received minor injuries and her daughter was unharmed.

Pattison was cited for negligent driving, failure to wear a seat belt and failure to properly secure her daughter in a child safety device.

Further details were not available.
