'Just Like Being There' Gig Poster Night

The Alaska division of the American Institute of Graphic Arts will present "Just Like Being There," a documentary about designers who create gig (concert) posters. This event includes a Q&A with the director and music from SJ & Drums. Celebrate graphic designers, musicians and the collaborations between the two. 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, Anchorage Community Works, 349 E. Ship Creek Ave.

'The Addams Family'

The musical comedy brings the darkly delirious world of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday, Pugsley and, of course, Lurch to spooky and spectacular life. 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday and March 4-6. Rage City Rollergirls All-Stars vs. SoCal Derby

Rage City's best host a team from San Diego, Calif. Organizers say this bout will be the roller derby event of the year in Alaska. Rage City's team includes JENetically Evil, Painmaker Sally, Deuce Gunner, Thai-Grrr, Spenard Itch, Lil Red Vette, Wickedspeedia, Bat Ma'am, New England PatRiot and HynoThighs. The All-Stars are excited to welcome the one and only Lethal Lavender back to her home state, and their newest teammate, Chick Norris. Both teams are competitively ranked in the Women's Flat Track Derby Association. Doors, 6 p.m., and wheels roll at 7 p.m. Saturday, AT&T Sports Pavilion, 11051 O'Malley Centre Drive. $12. Iditarod 2014 Race Start

It's one of the things that makes our state great, and the kick-off is always a fun time, with revelers lining the ceremonial start route to wish the mushers luck on their way to Nome. 10 a.m. Saturday, downtown Anchorage on Fourth, Fifth and Sixth avenues and C Street to L Street. Spring Home, Garden and Remodeling Show

The show features more than 150 experts. Get tips for backyards, flooring, garage doors, painting, fencing, decks, windows, carpet, security and home financing and insurance. Paul Lafrance, host of the television show "Decked Out," is the featured guest. He'll appear three times to present his "Backyard Revolutions." Parking is free. $5-7; children 12 and younger, free. Noon-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Sullivan Arena.
