Several of Anchorage’s leading ladies of song will present a recital of German lieder at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 28. Mari Hahn, Stasia Jamieson, Marlene Bateman and Nancy Caudill will present work by Richard Strauss, Johannes Brahms and Gustav Mahler. Music master Stephen Sulich is back in town to accompany them. Tickets are available at uaatix.com.

The recital by winners of the Alaska Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition will take place at 7 p.m. on March 1. The contest features singers of various ages and different styles of classical and musical theater performance. It’s free, as is the NATS artist auditions bi-annual competition for advanced artists at 11 a.m. Sunday, also in the UAA Arts Building Recital Hall.

The Sunday competition will be followed at 1:30 p.m. by a master class led by Sulich. Admission to that event is $5. All events take place in the UAA Fine Arts Building Recital Hall.
