Halloween robber sentenced to federal prison

Kendra Butts, 18, attempts to hide her face from news media Nov. 8, 2007, while being arraigned in Palmer Superior Court. Butts, accused of robbing several trick-or-treaters in Talkeetna of their Halloween candy, is charged with six counts of robbery and seven counts of assault. Also facing the same charges in the case is Amber Martin, 20. Both women are being held at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, Butts in lieu of $75,000 bail and Martin in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Kendra Butts, one of the Talkeetna "trick-or-treat bandits," has been sentenced in federal court for agreeing to cover up evidence in a truck police say she and others used while robbing trick-or-treaters at gunpoint last year.
