Redoubt

After a month of foreboding burps and quakes, Mount Redoubt erupted multiple times in 2009, spewing ash across much of the Kenai Peninsula.

Spurr

Aerial view of Mount Spurr, center, and Crater Peak, right, as viewed from the south on Sunday, May 25, 2008. Mount Spurr is a volcano located about 80 miles west of Anchorage across Cook Inlet and last erupted two times (June and August) in the summer of 1992. During the August 1992 eruption, the ash cloud traveled 60,000 feet well into the stratosphere and winds carried it east and south across Anchorage and Turnagain Arm.

Cleveland

This May 23, 2006, photo released by NASA shows the eruption of Cleveland Volcano, Aleutian Islands, Alaska, as photographed by an Expedition 13 crew member on the International Space Station. The image captures the ash plume of the very short-lived eruption.

Augustine

Augustine's summit emits white steam as the Alaska Volcano Observatory staff flew around Augustine Friday February 24, 2006. The volcano has quieted and is coded orange at this time.
