How to help a whale out of a tangle

Juneau Empire: Fishing Capt. Greg Brown went to NOAA's whale disentanglement training session last year, but this 30-foot humpback calf swathed in fishing line was the first real tangled whale he'd tried to help. The calf evidently wasn't pleased about the would-be rescuers grabbing at it, and it gave them a taste of what can make these rescues harrowing.
