Thar she ... bloops: Visiting Tolsona Mud Volcanoes

Link: Alaska Magazine You can't get a tourist T-shirt or latte at this Alaska geological oddity, writes correspondent Sherry Simpson. She takes a hike to the Tolsona Mud Volcanoes off the Glenn Highway west of Glennallen, where methane gas "bloops" to the surface from coal beds underground. The "volcanoes," she learns, aren't exactly up to Yellowstone standards for photogenic eruptions from the earth. See a photo here.
