Bison cool heels while ferry is repaired

Link: Dutch Harbor Fisherman Among the passengers delayed from getting to Southwest Alaska and the Aleutians when the Alaska State Ferry Tustumena broke down in Homer recently were two female bison being transported to Sand Point to diversify the gene pool of the Popof Island herd. The bison were from the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in Portage. The ferry was repaired last week and departed Saturday for its southwest run.
