Pigeons in Kodiak: Love them or kill them?

Link: Kodiak Daily Mirror Listening to pest-management people, you'd think Kodiak residents would be ready to kill every last pigeon in town. "The feces can cause structural damage, they bring in insects, and tourists in town get raided by feces, which can be detrimental to tourism," says one. "Nesting within structures, urination within and on the building, bird mites, secondary pests like flies and beetles can all become issues for [a] building," says another. But wait: Not many people are complaining, say borough and city officials. Is there a problem?
